UFO SIGHTING REPORT

Location: about 12 miles west/ northwest of downtown Houston, Texas-USA

Date: 02/17/2004--2100 cst

Approach Direction: west to north

Departure Direction: unknown

Witness Direction: southwest

Description: huge bright ball with flat top and bottom. it would move slowly, rapidly, and stand still. it would change shape rapidly and give off different colors. sometimes it would appear to be dynamically compressing in shape.

Color/Shape: bright white lighted, ball-shaped object. see above

Height & Speed: about 10,000-15,000 ft. very fast and very slow; erratic at times. not linear as in an aircraft's movement

Brian,

The sighting that I reported was witnessed and photographed for about 30 minutes by a family known to me. they do not wish to be identified. I am a retired TWA Captain with 12,000 hrs.; I have never seen anything like this. I can answer some of your questions from my observations of the film. however, I think you really need to see it for yourselves.

I would estimate the size to be about that of 4 or 5 747's combined. it would sometimes split into a 4 leaf clover and other times look like it was being squeezed dramatically from top to bottom. it is a very lively 30 minutes. the weather was good, possibly high clouds. there are two aircraft that pass through the film at different times. this gives a good comparative visual reference. the witnesses [4 or 5 ] are mentioned above. at times there is a slight contrail noticed but normally throughout the film there is nothing visual behind it.
