UFO SIGHTING REPORT
BROOKSVILLE FLORIDA
March 18th 2004
National UFO Reporting Center
NUFORC received an interesting report this morning, which I
thought the members of the list might find interesting.
In brief, a gentleman was driving west on a rural highway near
Brooksville, FL, when he noticed a cluster of distinctly red
lights some distance ahead, which he could not ascribe to any
type of vehicle he was familiar with. When he got within an
estimated 400 feet of the objects, each of which was some 5
inches in diameter, he estimated, they all streaked off in
different directions.
The copied report is below:
[Begin Copied Report]
100 Date: 03/18/2004
110 Time: 01:00
120 Duration: 5 to 10 mins
130 Sighting City: Brooksville
140 Sighting State: fl
150 Sighting Zip: 34609
160 Sighting County: Hernando
170 Witnesses: self
172 Shape: Formation
168 Number of Craft: unknown
180 Summary: strange array of lights suddenly appear about 1/2 mile in front of my truck, in Brooksville Florida.
190 Description: I was traveling west on Ayers Rd, in
Brooksville, Florida about 3 miles east of the RR crossing, I
was the only vehicle on the road at the time, I had my cruise
control set at 55MPH, had my hi-beams on, all of the sudden
these red lights appeared on the road ahead of me about a half
mile away, it was very odd the pattern of red lights didnt match
any vehicle that I was familiar with. I first thought this is
huge what ever it is, it covered both lanes, about 30 ft wide
and about 20 ft high with the one lone light on the other lane
(east bound) was flashing. As I got closer, I slowed down,
turned off my high beams, I realized this moving object is not a
vehicle, I could see the trucks passing north and south on US41
through the lights, all of the sudden as I got closer about 400
feet away these lights all vanished in different directions, and
the red lights went off simuntaneously...as they scattered. this
all lasted about 5 to 10 minutes.
[End Copied Report]
We find the report interesting, given its similarity to another
report we received in April 2003 from three adults in Meriwether
County, Georgia. They reported a cluster of red lights inside
their vehicle for several seconds, which, at one point during
the event, reportedly clustered around an abdominal scar of one
of the occupants of the vehicle. The lights seemed to be "aware"
of the scar, and perhaps its significance! The red lights, about
the size of marbles, suddenly disappeared from the vehicle as
quickly as they had first appeared.
The latter case was investigated by Georgia MUFON, State
Director, Tom Sheets. The Field Investigators were Jim Clifford,
Deputy Director, Olivia Newton, State Section Director. Their
report can be read on the NUFORC site at:
