UFO SIGHTING REPORT

Description: After the news I stepped outside for a cigarette and heard a hissing hum and looked toward the sound to see a vibrant purplish halo around a large metallic craft. It was shaped like a saucer alright, but stretched out. The thing went overhead and on to the west southwest very quickly. Afterwards blinkinking lights appeared in formation but I believe, from the sound, that these were aircraft. I kept watch until about 1 am and saw nothing else. VERY WEIRD indeed.

Color/Shape: it appeared almost white but as it came closer it was obviously a bright purple, but just as a halo. The craft looked to be metal.

Height & Speed: maybe 300 feet overhead, very fast compared to jets I saw afterwards
