Date: 08-07-04 at approximately 8 p.m. central/standard time.

Approach Direction: west to east

Departure Direction: faded into eastern dusk sky

Witness Direction: south

Description: The ufo I saw was a white ball. It was at a fairly high altitude and moving at a speed that would not have been a jet or plane. I was sitting on the backyard swing about 8 p.m. central/standard time Saturday, Aug. 7th, and looked down on the ground for only a couple of seconds to pick up some trash underneath the swing and when I looked back up at the sky in the clearing was this ball of light that had just appeared out of nowhere in a vast clearing in the sky. It was moving quite swiftly. I live not far from the airport here and I can say with certainty that there were no strobe lights as required by the AFA as well as this being a perfectly shaped ball. When a plane is at that altitude it simply cannot appear to move as fast as this ball of light was doing. It was making a straight shot through the sky, had no sound, and left no chemtrails of any kind, nor was it losing any altitude like a meteor particle or falling star would. It moved across a vast opening in the sky in 30 seconds or less and had this been a plane I would have sat and watched it for several minutes before it made that distance. This is the second sighting I've had; the other one was saucer shaped over downtown Jackson, MS, in May.

Thank you so much for sending in your sighting report as we really do appreciate it very much. I hope you won't mind answering a few question I have for you as it will help us get a better idea of what you witnessed and in as much detail as possible. Thank you.

Boy I sure am hearing lots of reports about balls of light, really ! I do think something strange is happening out there, matter of fact they are coming in reds, black, etc.. Perfectly round like to mentioned L..... So this is another very interesting report.

I don't know what else you might be able to add to the report, so if you don't mind I will ask a few question, and again please add anything you feel important. I know you mentioned a couple of thing, one about the airport, etc. So if I happen to ask something again it is because I was looking for the names of airports, etc.

Q - Can you tell me exactly what the weather conditions were that evening of the sighting ?

A - It was about 78 degrees, give or take a couple, very, very nice evening which is why I was sitting out in the swing, it was just beginning to get dark so still enough light left to read for example but the sky was getting dark enough to contrast lighted objects, the sky was cloudless but the stars weren't yet very visible. There were no rain clouds or overcast skies, and there was a light breeze.

Q - Can you please describe the appearance of the UFO: shape, size, distance, color, texture ?

A - It was perfectly round, very white, the altitude was higher than planes and jets that are coming in for a landing or taking off and you can see them very visibly when they come over our house...my husband said commercial jets may be about a mile above us when they are coming in, so the ufo was higher than that...if it had been a plane it would have been way too high for landing and taking off but a strange altitude for a plane that was on a normal and settled flight path if that helps. It was still visible enough, by all means, to see it was perfectly round. What caught my attention in particular was the shape and that it appeared out of nowhere. I had just been staring at the sky in this pretty large open clearing above our house when I reached down to pick up a piece of trash between my feet so I looked away for about 3 or 4 seconds at best and it just appeared out of nowhere...I didn't see it appear but when I looked back up there it was and on the move...rapidly. I feel however that I would have seen it before I looked away even at the fast speed it was moving, but I didn't...just hello there it was. Also, it was larger than the brightest planet but smaller than a plane or jet.

Q - Could you please describe the area in which you made the sighting. Is it near an airport? An Air Force Base? A military or research installation of any kind? If you know the names of any, or all this would be great.

A - We live in a very quiet family neighborhood in Ridgeland, MS. Our commercial airport is Jackson Municipal and it is east of us about 15 miles. Planes and jets coming in from the east go diagonal to the airport and go right over our house. There is also a small airport for hobby and charter planes (and I think it is called Madison Airport but it is in Madison county) and it is about 5 miles from here, but there had been no real activity in hobby flying going on after about 7 that evening. There are no military installations or bases near us.

Q - Did you happen to see any aircraft in the area around the time of the sighting ? Before, during or just afterwards ?

A - No, not a one and I'd been sitting outside for about an hour so it was a quiet evening sky-traffic wise for some time. As I said no small craft since about 7 p.m. or so. I stayed outside for another 10-15 minutes and no other activity during that time either.

Q - Did the object at anytime move from it's straight flight path, maybe slow down or anything of that nature ?

A - No, it never moved from it's straight flight path, it did not get lower nor did it get higher in altitude. I got up out of the swing when it got out of the clearing a bit so I could see it and it seemed to speed up and I watched it until I could not see it because of the trees on the other side of the circle that I live in. It was on a steady and straight move and moving pretty swiftly. I can tell you that a plane or jet would not have been moving at that speed at the altitude this ufo was at...too, too fast for that. It stayed at the same, straightline altitude as well as its path, too.

Q - If there is anything else you can add L...., this would be wonderful I know we see what we see and tell it all. But just in case, thought I better ask.

A - I think I mentioned this in my report, but here was no sound...not one sound, totally silent...and we live in a very quiet neighborhood and it was very quiet at that time so there were no other noises to keep me from hearing it if it had made noise. I can tell you that if that had been an aircraft of some sort it was low enough still that I would have definitely heard it even if it wasn't extremely loud I would still have been able to hear it.

Q - Also, if you would care to, I would love to hear the story about the saucer shaped craft over Jackson, MS, in May. this sounds darn interesting as well. So again, if you do write over it, please try to add everything you can think of.

A - Later tonight I will write up my sighting I had in May. It was on our local television's webcam over downtown, but I know what I saw and THAT was no aircraft! LOL!!! While I'm at it here, if you need someone down this way to do some volunteer interviewing with people that have sightings let me know. I'm pretty available and I know there have been a lot of sightings in the Mississippi area of late. My first sighting was in 1971 and I'll give you a brief description of that in my report tonight also. I will use these same questions you've given me here to go by. Please feel free to contact me at anytime. I've been studying this from a Biblical perspective for a long time now. Regardless of one's spiritual views or what one thinks these ufos are, a sighting is still a sighting so the facts are the facts in that regard. :)
