UFOINFO Sighting Form Report

Date: 02/01/05 8:30 p.m. PST

Description: My husband was out on our deck smoking a cigarette. He was facing Mount Konocti which we are at the eastern side of. He noticed a very bright light hovering near the southern side of the mountain. He yelled for me to come see. I who did not believe in ufo's didn't want to go out there to see what I figured was a plane or satalite. He was very excited and insistant that I come see. So I went outside to see what it was.

At first I thought it had to be a very bright star, but as I stood there it began to rise in altitude.I was amazed to say the least. By this time our 17 year old daughter, her boyfriend, and our 12 year old son were watching too.

I stated that it was moving which frightened my 12 year old. He ran tripping on the entrance to our house and crying in fear. We stood and watched as the light changed from a bright white light to blinking blue and red lights and head straight toward us comeing directly over our house. It was so close we could make out the shape of the vehicle. It was sorta shaped like a diamond in the front but also long and cylander. It made absolutely no noice. It passed over head and headed in a eastern direction. We watched as is went further away and then it just disapeared.

My son had to sleep with me that night because he was so frightened. I had to assure him that they were not coming back to hurt him.

We are all possitive that what we saw was not something we have ever seen before.

Color/Shape: The lights were bright white at first, but changed to blue and red blinking lights as it drew closer. It was diamond shaped at the front, but also long and rounded.

Height & Speed: About 500 feet above us. Cannot estimate speed, but can say at first it moved slow enough to see clearly. When it headed away though at some point it all at one moved so fast it just dissapeared.

TV/Radio/Press: I reported it to the police department.

Follow-up information from Brian Vike:

Q. - Can you please tell me what the weather conditions were like that evening ?

A. - It was clear and unseasonably warm.

Q. - Describe the area in which you made the sighting. Is it near an airport? An Air Force Base? A military or research installation of any kind?

A. - I am pretty sure we are no where near a military base and the closest airport is probably 50 miles from here. We live near the top of Mount Konocti which is a small active volcano in Lake County. The first time we noticed the object it was hovering real close to the top of the mountain.

Q. - How long were you and your family able to observe the object for ? My husband watched it hover for about 5 to 7 minutes before he started yelling for us to come out side. After I came out it was 1 to 2 minutes before it headed toward us. It seemed like an awful long time as it passed above us but in reality it couldn't have been more then 3 minutes.

Q. - As it passed over your home at such a low altitude did you or your husband feel any unusual sensations from this event, during or afterwards.

A. - I did. I remember as it passed being almost in a trance. I didn't even hear my son crying. I don't remember if I heard any of them talking until after it was almost gone. My son experienced great fear and he said his legs got weak. He also felt sick to his stomach. He did not sleep most of the night which was puzzling to me because I felt elated and peaceful at the same time. The other were just excited.

Q. - Were there any aircraft in the area at the time of the sighting, or afterwards ? If so did you see any of the planes following the same path as the object took ?

A. - No aircraft. My daughter and her boyfriend witnessed a meteor shower later maybe 10 minutes later.

Q. - Can you please tell me where the lights were located on the object ?

A. - There were 3 pointed objects at the front and two in the back.There were red lights at the end of each point that did not blink. There was a blinking blue light at the very front of the first point. The whole craft was illuminating a very bright light like a light-bulb.

Q. - Plus if you or your family can think of anything else to add, please do.

A. - I remember as the craft first headed towards us all the dogs in our area started barking. Then later maybe 2 or 3 minutes after the object was gone our reception on our T.V. began to act funny. We never lost reception it just got fuzzy. This lasted for about 2 to 3 minutes.
