Location: Port Washinton / New York / USA
Date: 06/06/05 10:35 EST
Approach Direction: East
Departure Direction: North West
Witness Direction: East
Description: While walking to my car parked on the far east end of company
I work for I noticed 2 brigh light traveling from east to west. Not very
high and traveling at speeds similar to small planes that normally fly by
this area. There was no noise at all. I watched the lights as I kept waling
to my car. As the lights passed above and just to my right I noticed that
the distance (gap) between them began to broaden a bit. A few seconds later
the two light split...one went north west and the other kept traveling west.
Very odd.
Speed was the same thought out their flight. There was no blinking. Just
2 white lights. I lost track of them as the one traveling north west
disappeared behind the building I work in and the other behind some tall trees.
Port Washington is 20 miles east of Manhattan NY on the north shore. Lots
of air traffic into local airports JFK and La Guardia.
Color/Shape: white, lights...appeared round. no noise.
Height & Speed: 1.5 miles height, as if watching low flying cessna plane.
same speed thought out my viewing.
TV/Radio/Press: never saw it on TV or read it in local papers.
