Follow-up information from Brian Vike
Brian, I will try to answer your questions one at a time. Please excuse any typing errors, I am a rookie to this.
We saw this thing for approx. 15 seconds. The light we saw traveled to the west very rapidly, slightly arching up. When we first saw it the light it was stationary and appeared to be the last star in the Big Dipper. I pointed at it and told Meg that that was the North Star as it first started moving slowlly to the west before it started arching up mad moving rapidly out of sight. We saw no train or any streak of light following this, it just looked like a star had run out of formation and disappeared.
When we first started star gazing last night I asked Meg to come outside to help me identify a solid glowing reddsh light to the east which I was wondering was Mars. When Meg asked " Which way is due north?" I responded by Pointing at what I assumed was the North Star, We looked at it for a few seconds before it started moving. I decided it was time to come inside before they came to take us. Thanks for answering, Steve from Katy, Tx. By the way it was a little after 3 a.m. central time.
[UFOINFO thanks Brian Vike & HBCC UFO Research for the follow-up.]
