UFOINFO Sighting Form Report

Location: Pomona Park, Putnam Co., Florida, U.S.

Date: 09/25/05 11:30 p.m est

Approach Direction: north somewhat erratic

Departure Direction: faded

Witness Direction: southbound on SR-17

Description: Bright red light like a flare going up...flashed a few times then stayed stationary for a few moments then moved around back and forth then towards us then just faded out

Color/Shape: red, roundish looked like a giant meteor but moved wrong

Height & Speed: no way to tell

Follow-up infromation from Brian Vike:

There was no sound, no tail no dropping of anything I could see, it seemed to be very high but I could be wrong. It's flashing looked somewhat like a rocket booster going off and on. it was a fairly clear evening it just appeared very bright in front of us then got brighter as if it was coming toward us then got somewhat erratic moving side to side then upward fading and re-brightening several times before fading away. We watched it for at least 5 mins. there are quite a few small airstrips around, some military bases not real close by but within maneuvering area I guess (nas JAX, Cecil field). Pomona Park is very rural (about 20 miles from a Wal-Mart just to give you an idea) not all farms and such but still very rural. the zip code is 32181 if you need demographics.
