Description: I live at an apartment complex near the waterfront or harbor at Perth Amboy which is across the water from Staten Island, NY. It was between the times of 11 - 11:15pm est and I was having a smoke at the back of the apartments. As I looked down on the ground for a little bit, I saw something bright in the sky at the corner of my eye. At first, I thought it was a comet or a meteorite. But it wasn't. In fact, there were 3-4, maybe 5, orange or amber objects flying. 1 flew real fast leaving a light colored glow in it's trail. Then the other 3-4 UFO's floated around, moving like some fireflies. As if they were right infront of my face. That was how fast they moved. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I thought I was seeing things. I know I didn't drink that much. I know they couldn't have been passenger planes either because during that sighting, 2 of them were flying in their usual speed not too far away. And they had white lights blinking. No fighter jet or any other plane could move like those orange objects. After they floated for a brief few seconds, 2 of 'em moved around in circles real fast like fireflies and then they sped off, heading south. So I ran a block down and tried to follow the orange lights. They just flew further and further away and disappeared like a couple miles away. While I could still see the white lights of our passenger planes a couple miles in the other direction. It's stranger that nobody else saw or reported this. I've never seen anything like it before. Hopefully I'll hear more about this.
Color/Shape: orange dots in the same size as the white lights of our passenger planes.
Height & Speed: Not sure what the height and speed was but they were a little lower, probably a thousand feet below the passenger planes that were about to land at jfk or newark airports. They were a lot faster than our fighter jets.
