Weather Conditions: Clear blue sky with sparsely scattered small clouds

Description: I work a block away from the hawthorne private airport and have a direct view of their landing path. I do not know the exact day, but I do know it was around february 2009. I was getting out of my car after lunch and when I looked out the window I noticed a solid black elliptical object, and observed that it was at a stationary 15 degree angle and moving north in the sky at a steady pace, it did not move except for traveling across the sky. At first I thought it might be a mylar balloon, but there were small planes at the same elevation and not very far from the object at all, which I used to determine that it was a bit smaller that the planes. I was walking towards it at this point and was looking for my cell phone to take a picture when went behind a tree in my path, I rushed to get around the tree but it was no where to be seen and I scanned the whole sky at that point but there was nothing. I told my friends at work, but we couldn't figure out what it could have been. I thought for sure that someone in one of the planes saw it because it was that close to the planes.

TV/Radio: I called the NBC studios and asked if anyone had reported anything, but they said that no one had. I also called the Hawthorne airport, but they also said that they did not receive any reports.
