UFOINFO Sighting Form Report

Location: Peoria, IL, USA

Date: 05 26 2009

Time: 9:42pm

Number of witnesses: 3

Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: (It was cloudy) Image was a single light flying in a slightly straight but sporadic uneven pattern

Weather Conditions: Cloudy

Description: My brother, a friend and I were outside looking up at the clouds as it had been raining heavily throughout the evening. The clouds started to thin a bit but on the edge of the cloud line, and I saw a single lit light flying west to east in the south sky of Peoria, IL area. I pointed it out to the other 2.

We were perplexed at the light that flew in a slight zig-zag pattern. We moved into a better view to follow the flight path and all agreed that each of us saw it and all saw and agreed that it flew in an inconsistent pattern... not in a straight path like an airplane or jet flight path. The light was slightly inside the clouds almost as to not be noticed. The total time we experienced this strange light was about 45 seconds to a minute. We followed its path until it seemed to fade out abruptly into the clouds or as though it strangely just faded completely out.

We all looked at each other as if that was the weirdest thing we've seen and had to confirm to each other that yes, all 3 of us saw the same thing. Sadly, we didn't think to try and film it with a cell phone camera as it was so strange to see. The flight path was as if it was traveling as a small jet would, approximately 400 to 500 mph but as if it were a fly in a somewhat straight line but no, in a slight zig-zag pattern.

My brother had worked at our airport for 28 years, recently retiring and said he's never seen anything like that before. He estimated the how high it was to be about 2,500 to 3,000 feet. I tried to search for other blogs or sightings of this incident right after returning home about 10:10 pm but didn't see any other posts. If anyone else had seen this please respond. Thank you.
