Weather Conditions: Clear star light night

Description: Around 9:30 pm I notice a orange round object in the northern skies. I had my wife and son along with his friend come outside with me to witness this event. It was stationary in the ski, size of an nickel, orange in color and not making in noise. The object seemed to not move for some five minutes or more. It then seemed to move from left to right and them move away from us getting smaller until it disappeared. Seemed to be moving at a high rate of speed. I thought at first it was a planet but was way to large and then it moved from left to right and speed off until it was not visible to the eye. Not sure what we saw but it was not an airplane or weather balloon.
