Shape of objects: From a "star" look to a "ball" look

Weather Conditions: Clear skies, winds were soft

Description: We were driving down a road we travel often, we saw what looked like a star where we normally wouldn't see one. As we slowed the car looking at it, it turned bright green/blue, like a ball of light and shot straight down into the woods nearby. When I drove by the area it look like it landed there appeared to be bright lights in the woods. My wife, both kids and myself saw this and were shaking. We didn't report it to anyone here. I was too afraid to enter the woods where we saw the "thing". It was so weird how it turned from a star look and quickly turned greenish blue and "shot" into the woods. When I mean shot, I mean it went from what looked over 1000 ft to earth in a matter of seconds. There was NO sound either, we did have the windows open slightly.
