Shape of objects: Round "White Ball"

Weather Conditions: Clear

Description: As I was driving through Thousand Oaks, CA, on Highway 23 travelling northbound, around the Janss exit, I saw a bright white object move across the sky. It was travelling from east to west, and appeared to be about 1/8 the size of the moon, with a "tail" that streamed behind it. It streaked across the sky overhead, and It disappeared to black in midair.

I don't know if this was something (meteor? space junk?) entering the atmosphere and burning up, or what it was, but it certainly was strange and I've never seen anything like it in my life.
