Number of witnesses: My whole Radar Crew

Number of objects: One

Shape of objects: We were unable to determine a shape

Weather Conditions: Beautiful bright sunny clear sky day

Description: The object was first picked up on our radar screen and plotted for some time, making erratic changes in direction. Aircraft were scrambled but could not get close to object. It was finally determined that the object was almost directly over our base, so those of us who could be spared, ran outside and looked up and saw a very bright object, just sitting in the sky, not moving. No shape was obvious,just a bright spot. After several minutes, it took off and disappeared in an instant.

TV/Radio: Don't recall seeing anything in the paper. We were interviewed by some Air Force Officers
