Description: First of all feel free to omit any of this if I'm am being overly verbose.

Here is a little back ground on me:

I am almost 65 yrs old now. I spent nearly 5 yrs in the U.S. Navy Four as an Electronics Technician. The last two at a facility the same as the one at the now famous Nova Scotia incident. (Popular Science Mag. spilled the beans on that program in a late 1959 issue.) I then worked for IBM until I retired in 1993. I love the Web and enjoy keeping up with the latest happenings, UFO's being one of them.

I've had a few incidents happen to me, most of which I could come up with at least pseudo scientific explanation for. (If you are interested in oldies lt me know.) Not this one though. I recently read a report of a sighting that was identical to one of mine. I'll tell you mine.

This incident occurred many years ago, late fall of 1955. I was attending electronics school at the naval training enter at Great Lakes Michigan.

As it was an unusually balmy night for that time of year, I decided to take a stroll around the perimeter of the base. I was passing the main gate when I decided to rest for a while on a bench just outside.

The sky had lots of soft puffy clouds that were soft pink in color, probably due the lights of Chicago and/or Milwaukee that we were situated between. The parts of the sky not obscured by clouds were very black with brilliant stars.

Just sitting there looking and smoking a cigarette. I started to notice some movement almost directly overhead. Many, 8 to 20 (Long time ago, I forget exactly) dull red dots moving semi-randomly. They were just dots, small and round from what I could tell. They were fairly bright and would have been seen by anyone with normal vision if they happened to look there. They did not Strobe. There were no other colors and made no sound that I could hear.

It was odd but not so much to keep my interest. They could have been balloons for some kind of experiment, anything. Then I noticed that there would be pairs that would break off from the group and chase each other in and out of the clouds. They would exit the cloud at random places. Sometimes the trailer was behind, sometimes not. Now THAT was weird. Putting myself in the position of those operators it could go something like this. "OK George, we have to be up here anyway so lets have some fun while we're waiting. You turn off you electronics and try to follow me visually though the clouds." That's exactly what they looked like they were doing.

This whole incident lasted at least five minutes maybe more. Just when I started to think about pointing this out to the only people around, the gate guards, I saw that the clouds were starting to fill the sky and these red things we disappearing. By the time I got to the gate they were gone.

I never heard that anyone else ever reported anything. I never attempted to report to anyone, I just asked the guards if they saw it, they didn't.

I had no undue emotional reaction.

Thank you for your interest in the subject.

Color/Shape: Steady dull Red but fairly bright, None were strobing.

Appeared circular but small
