UFOINFO Sighting Form Report

Location: Ferndale, Washington, U.S.A

Date: July 6, 2001 Time: 7:00 p.m.

Approach Direction: east

Departure Direction: north

Witness Direction: east

Description: Me my dad and my sister were watching television after eating dinner, when we heard a very disturbing rumbling sound. It was a offbeat rumble that struck fear in me. After about 30 minutes of "listening" to this sound, my dad went back to his bedroom to have a cigarette. He immediately called me back, it was then when I saw the lights.

There were three red lights ( I would have thought them to be airplanes if they were flying, but they were stationary ) after about 10 seconds of watching them one abruptly shot off to the north covering tens of miles in mere seconds, and then just glided back. After another 20-30 seconds they just blinked out. The sound continued for another hour.

Color/Shape: Red elliptical lights.

Follow-up information from Brian Vike:

Description: My dad, sister, and I were watching television after eating dinner when we heard a very disturbing rumbling sound. It was an offbeat, constant rumble that struck fear in me. After about 30 minutes of "listening" to this sound my dad went back to his bedroom (facing west) to have a cigarette. I went out onto the porch and looked east, towards the bay.

There was a very black cloud, it looked more or less like a black sheet getting pulled over the sky. ( I've never seen such a black cloud, I mean there was absolutely no light coming through that thing, it didn't even vary in shade, it was all black) I went back inside the house and started to freak out. I cannot convey to you how intense that first night was. After approximately another 20 minutes of intense praying ( I was feeling more or less like the day of reckoning was at hand ) I went back to see my father. He was smoking another cigarette and reading the bible when he got up to ash his cigarette out the window when we saw the lights.

There were three red lights (my first impression were airplanes, of course, if only they were flying, but they were stationary) After about 10 seconds of watching them, one abruptly shot off to the north covering tens of miles in mere seconds and then just glided back to its original position. The other two just sort of did a little erratic maneuver and after another 20-30 seconds they just blinked out. The sound continued for another hour or so. I would have no trouble at all excepting a weather anomaly related explanation (ball lightening and a rumbling cloud would explain it) if only it didn't happen for two months straight. I never saw the lights (although I never really looked, extraterrestrials weren't actually on my mind as to the culprits) again but that sound would just happen at different times of the day, and each time I heard it, it was frightening. Sometimes it would be "on" for 10 minutes in the middle of the day. It would be a beautiful summer day, not a cloud in the sky 80 degrees and that same rumbling sound would just happen. As the days went on, like I said, it never stopped being frightening, more because I couldn't figure out where the heck it was coming from. It would vary in intensity. On some days it would feel like there was something right underneath the house or right above. Very, very strange.

Color: Red elliptical lights.
