Location: Canyon Lake, Texas

Date: sunset 7-16-69 cst

Approach Direction: from west

Departure Direction: moved toward us and hovered for 1 to 2 hours

Witness Direction: west

Description: This post is a response to another to verify it. I was 16 at the time. My girlfriend and I were sitting on the shore at North Park on Canyon Lake at sunset and a smoking sphere rose out of the lake directly in front of us. It looked to be the size of a house. It slowly transformed into a red luminescent sphere with a bluish cone covering the right side. We became frightened and drove to a friends' house on theother side of the lake. When we got there a group of 4 - 5 of our friends were standing outside watching it. We watched for quite sometime until it disappeared. It appeared again the following night, but never again to my knowledge. A good number of people saw this object.

Color/Shape: a white smoky sphere changing to red with a blue cone partially covering one end.

Height & Speed: rose out of water to 50-60 feet before vanishing

TV/Radio/Press: I don't remember but I still see some of the other witnesses.
