UFO Sighting Report - USA

Please note that the reports in this section have been submitted to UFOINFO/UFO ROUNDUP and accepted in good faith. No investigation has been carried out by UFOINFO.

With the increasing use of digital cameras we are seeing more photos showing alleged 'UFOs' - many of these could be insects, cloud shapes etc. As many readers have asked to see the photos I will be using some of them and leaving it up to the individual to make up their own mind - John @ UFOINFO.

August 1978 : Dallas, Texas

Location: Dallas, Texas USA

Date: August 1978 Late afternoon

Approach Direction: Southern sky

Departure Direction: Unknown, it just vanished

Witness Direction: South

Description: First off, I believe this is the same sighting entitled "Dallas, Texas Daytime Sighting Of A Metal Triangular Shaped Craft" in the late 1970's.

Like the person who posted this sighting, I too never forgot this experience and was thrilled to stumble across the above posting. I knew I couldn't be the only one who saw this object. So here's my story...

After doing some research, I've determined that this encounter most likely occured in August of 1978 when I was 11 years old. My cousins, who were visiting from out of town, were on summer break. It was the late afternoon and we were playing football in the front yard.

At one point, I noticed an object about 100ft up in the air directly over the house across the street from us. To me the object appeared round. The other witness said triangular, but perhaps it was because of the angle that it was seen from? I'd like to think I knew the difference between a circle and a triangle by the age of 11, but I'm willing to admit I might have the shape wrong. Nevertheless, the detail that stands out the most was the red, blue, green and yellow lights that rotated around this object. That and the fact that there was absolutely no noise. It's metallic-like body was also clearly visible. My two cousins, myself and I believe my friend (who lived next door to me), all saw it. I went to get my parents and showed them the object. They stood in the doorway of our house, looked across the street and said "It's just a helicopter"to which I replied "but there's no noise". They then went back into the house without further comment (it was the 1970's and they were partying at the time, which explains their lack of interest).

I rejoined my cousins when we suddenly noticed that the object vanished and now reappeared on our side of the street, directly opposite from the house it was just at. Then the next thing we knew it second it was there, the next second it was gone.

For some reason, neither of my cousins nor my parents recall this incident (I've lost touch with my neighbor). How someone can't remember something like this is beyond me. So you can imagine how thrilled I was when I saw someone post a similar experience.

But the part that really convinces me that this is the same sighting (and sent shivers down my spine) is this...I googled the location of the sighting from the original witness's description (Southwestern Blvd & Boedecker) and I googled my location at Winterwood Lane and Leavalley drive ( I lived on Winterwood, but I don't want to post the exact address as I don't live there anymore). When you see the two locations on the google map, it's practically a straight line between me and the other witness. Somewhere along that line between the 9 miles that seperated us was the object that neither one of us will ever forget.

Color/Shape: Round (triangular?), red, blue, green and yellow lights encircling a metallic object. No engine noise or any noise at all.

Height & Speed: 100ft or so. Speed - too fast to gauge

TV/Radio/Press: Not to my knowledge
