UFO Sighting Report - USA
August 1991 ? : San Mateo, California
UFOINFO Sighting Form Report
I am going to have to do some research to get my dates exactly right, but I believe the date was in Late august of 1991.
What ever year it was, it was the same year as the Huge Oakland hills fire that wiped out a good part of the Oakland highlands.
I was in San mateo, and I, along with atleast a 8 friends of mine witnessed three odd flashing lights FOR HOURS in the sky.
It was an extremely hot evening, so hot that sound sleeping was not an option.
We were in the Los Prados lagoon area of San mateo, and there were so many people getting up to watch these lights, then go back to bed. It was amazing..
People were waking people up, and hanging out at the lagoon trying to figure out what was going on.
What was really weird was that these lights were obscured by clouds (in the middle of a hot summer night).
I don't have time to get into all the details right now, but I started watching the lights about 1:30 am. The lights appeared to be over the Fremont area, but it was hard to tell.
Sometime just after 4 am, we heard helicopters flying up from moffet field. No lights, we just heard the blades chopping, and felt the vibrations..
Then we heard a constant and steady hovering for about 30 minutes. Still no with no aircraft or helicopter lights visible.
Just before sunrise, there was a flash of light, and then a big blue ball appeared, turned, then shot up into the sky.
(Were guessing that the military heicopter had something to do with it. I don't remember exactly why, but it appeared to us at the time some kind of shots were fired.)
10 minutes later, as the sun was just coming up, there was about 15 minutes of wild wind that started and stopped very quickly.
Remember, this is the middle of summer, it was a completely still night!
The 6am news on KTVU2 stated that a UFO that looked like a big blue ball of fire hovered over uc-Berkeley overnight, and then shot off over the pacific ocean..
The 7am news on KTVU2 stated that a meteor flew in over the bay area, and crashed into the pacific ocean... AND THAT MILITARY WAS OUT THERE TRYING TO RETRIEVE IT.
The report said UC Berkeley, but to us it appeared to be in the Fremont or milpitas area.
I don't know what was what, but I know that I saw SOMETHING, and I was wondering if you have heard any other reports similar to this?
