UFO SIGHTING REPORTLas Vegas, NevadaOctober 7th 1995UFOINFO Sighting Form Report Location: Las Vegas, NV Date: 10/7/95 between 9-11pm Approach Direction: west Departure Direction: east Witness Direction: west Description: I had recently moved to Vegas and was watching a boxing match at a co-worker's house behind The Longhorn on Boulder Highway (tracked down the Lennox Lewis fight for the correct date, cannot recall the exact time, but it was after the fight). We stepped into the back yard to have a smoke and saw a gigantic green/amber fireball moving slowly from the west. It appeared to be around 100 yards up, travelled much too slowly to be a meteorite and did not lose altitude. Estimating the size to be around 15 yards across (if altitude is correct, if it was higher it was MUCH larger). It appeared to 'roll' across the sky directly overhead toward Sunrise Mountain (and ultimately Nellis AFB) and made no sound except for a faint crackling and a low frequency rumble which was felt rather than heard. It disappeared over the mountain to the east, total sighting time no more than one minute. Being in Radio, I called Nellis AFB and asked for info. They said they did not take those kind of reports and when pressed said they had had no calls about unusual sightings that night. Color/Shape: Round fireball, green at center, amber at edges. Gave the impression of a ball rolling end over end.
