UFOINFO Sighting Form Report

Location: USA, Connecticut, Litchfield County, City of Torrington, NorthEast Section

Date: July, 1999 Local time (Eastern) at approx. 9:30PM

Approach Direction: Object moved parallel with road which was south to north

Departure Direction: North

Witness Direction: North

Description: My daughter and I were on a back road which had no traffic or nearby housing. This was Newfield Road. We had gone out for coffee and were returning home, going the long way around. Just ahead, and to my left (the drivers side) I noticed a line of lights that appeared to be in a V shape, in other words one light at the front, and others forming the V. I slowed down and pointed the lights out to my daughter, who was also an adult at that time. We drove slowly trying to figure out what it was. There was no sound whatsoever coming from what we first decided was a formation of ultralights. The whole formation was moving slowly and steadily. I sped up to get closer so that I could see if there was anything connecting the lights. The sky was black and the stars were out, there were no clouds. We both observed a massive black object that blotted out the stars above it. It was probably sixty feet long and had white lights along the side we could see, and one white light in the back. It was shaped like a barge. It was longer than it was high but bulky and rectangular shaped,with a flat bottom. It silently moved along to our upper left, about 1,000 feet off the ground and we followed it until it disappeared behind trees still to our left.

Color/Shape: Barge shaped, bulky, dense black, white lights, silent slow moving flat bottomed. About 60 ft long guesstimate.

Height & Speed: approx. 1000 feet up moving from South to North, slowly moving

Hello, Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Let me try to remember as clearly as I can.

My daughter and I spotted the object to our left, and drove about two miles on a back road trying to keep it in sight. It continued to stay to our left the entire time, until we lost sight of it behind some trees. We were travelling about 30 mph. The object was I believe heading North. There are no airports, except Bradley international, which is about 35 miles away. There are no military bases, except for a national guard base at the airport. There were no other aircraft visible at the time. This object was silent and low. The object was probably 300-500 feet? to our left and not very high. There was no missing time or anything. When we first saw it, we thought it was a "fleet" of ultralights or something, but then realized it was a solid object when we gained on it.

I have had a couple of very strange experiences and I wouldn't know if they're related. About 15 years ago, I was sleeping in one of our bedrooms that I don't usually use. Our house is out in the middle of nowhere, no lights nearby. Sometime during the night, a light flashed on the house from overhead. We have very large windows, and the bed was closeby one, on the West side of the house. The light was so brilliant that it made my eyes water. It was completely silent. Just this light, like a bluish white. It wasn't shining in the window from an angle. Suddenly, it just switched off. Then, I heard a sound from above the house, it's hard to explain. Like a noise that isn't. I could follow it with my eyes.

One other time, just recently. I was in bed working on my laptop, about 2:30 am. I have chronic insomnia, and fibromyalgia so I don't sleep much. I happened to look up for some reason. At the foot of the bed there are two windows and they were propped open. I saw, I really saw, this little face looking in. These windows are on the second floor. It was weird. The eyes were black and hollow and the face was narrow, and light colored. It just looked at me and I looked at it for about ten seconds, then it disappeared. Now, our house is 213 years old and we've all had some strange experiences here to say the least. Spirits or whatever. It takes alot to scare me. For some reason, this seemed perfectly normal.

The only other thing thats happened to me was that one night while my husband and I were sleeping, I woke up suddenly and my arms were pinned to the bed on each side. I didn't see anything or hear anything, but they wouldn't move. I tried to wake up my husband but he didn't wake up. They just suddenly released. Maybe nothing to do with anything, but it's all I can think of. I'm going to try to attach a drawing of what I saw, close as I can. Can't get the angle right from underneath, but this is what it looked like. Bottom was definately flat and edges were angled.
