Description: I was living in the hills outside of Fredriksted; the house was in Wheel of Fortune (Anne's Fancy) which, at the time was on a remote road with only 4 other homes within visual range. I was alone that evening. All of a sudden I heard a deafening roar over the house. It sounded like a 747 was going to crash right into my residence. I recall thinking that this could be a possibility since the airport in St. Croix had jet traffic.

I was terrified, of course. Then, as soon as it started, it stopped. I went outside to the balcony outside my living room, which was on the second floor. There, hovering about 100 feet above the ground and maybe 50 feet from the house, was a UFO. It had colored lights on the underside which flashed slowly. I could not see inside. It was silent.

I was frozen with fright. My dogs were on the ground howling and barking. It didn't move either. It was a bit of a standoff, and gave me time to collect myself, talk to myself and tell myself, "This is a gift. Memorize it. You're safe."

I don't know how much time elapsed. After a while, it took off out of sight with no sound. Right then, my neighbors up the hill called and asked me if my dogs were okay because it sounded like they were hurt. I told them what had happened; they had not seen anything but had heard the jet-like sound which announced the craft.

I don't know whether this is related, but back then in St. Croix there was no TV station except the local one, which was not much. I had the radio on all the time. Exactly 30 days prior to this incident, I began to get a station from San Juan which I'd never gotten before. It was wonderful; it played the very latest jazz coming from the States. I would call them every day to make requests, delighted that I had been able to get this station.

I was playing the station when the craft appeared. After the craft left the station turned into static on the radio and I never was able to get it again.
