Hi everyone,

Well it's been a while since I sent a newsletter out. There were two main reasons for this, 1. I've just had a two week holiday in Egypt and it took me a while to get back into the swing of living a normal life, and 2. I'm up to my neck in it with projects at home. Last week I was asked by one of our local free Nottingham newspapers, The Topper, for an interview about UFO's. Apart from the chief reporter and the accompanying photographer, there were two girls on 'work experience, seeing what it would be like as a reporter.

The interview went well and lasted for about two hours, and I was grilled about many aspects of Ufology. I was surprised that even at such a young age, the girls had what I thought was a good perspective of the subject. That was until they asked: "Do you believe that Michael Jackson is an alien"? And they were serious!!! I answered "I know he's a little weird and looks funny now, but when he was a youngster he looked as normal as everyone else". We carried on with the interview as though the question never arose. Towards the end of the interview, I mentioned that there is not an investigation group in Nottinghamshire and anyone who's considering setting up a group locally, should feel free to do so. As I ran a group successfully for 8 years, I would gladly give any advice and guidence for anyone whose serious enough.

Ex-Astronaut Buzz Aldrin Accused Of Punching Man

A man who publicly confronted astronaut Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin over whether he actually went to the Moon said on Tuesday that the Apollo 11 hero almost sent him into space with a punch to the jaw. Bart Sibrel, an independent filmmaker from Nashville, Tennessee, said he was trying to conduct an ambush interview with Aldrin outside a hotel in Beverly Hills on Monday when the astronaut punched him and ran away.

"I approached him and asked him again to swear on a Bible that he went to the moon, and told him he was a thief for taking money to give an interview for something he didn't do," Sibrel told Reuters.

The incident was videotaped for Sibrel's second film, which claims to prove that the Apollo 11 astronauts faked footage of their July 1969 trip to the Moon to fool the Soviet Union into thinking the United States had won the 1960s space race. Sibrel, 37, said he reported the assault to police and was seeking an assault charge against the 72-year-old astronaut.

A spokesman for Aldrin could not be reached for comment. Beverly Hills police confirmed that they are investigating the incident. The encounter with Aldrin was Sibrel's third since he said he discovered footage in NASA's archives showing that the Apollo 11 astronauts had placed a transparency of the Earth in front of their space capsule window and videotaped it to simulate a journey to the Moon. Aldrin was the second man to take a walk on the Moon, a feat recorded on grainy black-and-white film footage and transmitted around the world on July 20, 1969. But Sibrel contends in his first film, "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Moon," that Apollo 11 never left Earth's orbit and that no one has ever walked on the Moon. BROOMFIELD, Colorado, 29 August 2002. The Majestic Documents investigation team has just posted a set of four, leaked MJ12 documents to www.majesticdocuments.com. These documents arrived anonymously in Tim Cooper's Big Bear CA mailbox in July of 2001.

The first document is a two-page Secret memorandum from President Dwight D. Eisenhower to the Director of Central Intelligence dated 4 November 1953. The document deals with Eisenhower's comments on an "MJTWELVE Operations Plan of June 16, 1953 on the subject of instructions for the expenditures of the National UFO Intelligence Program, and more specifically, the Special Operations instructions to be issued to Unified and Specific Major Commands and Commanders." Eisenhower (a) expresses concern about inflaming the UFO situation with the Soviets; (b) reiterates that both the CIA and the NSA had leading roles to play in the UFO program; and (c) confirms that both Robert Oppenheimer and Albert Einstein (described as the director of Project JEHOVAH) were involved in research relating to UFO physics. The second is a seven page document attributed to the Office of Scientific Intelligence in 1976, this is a photocopied onionskin document is titled UFO Sovereignty Over Air Space: A Defense Intelligence Problem. The document is signed by LCR - the initials of an astronomer attached to the CIA's Office of Scientific Intelligence in the 1970's. LCR talks about the way in which UFO's have violated U.S. airspace on numerous occasions; the way in which Top Secret UFO data has been withheld from elected leaders by the CIA; the recovery of a crashed UFO in New Mexico in 1947 by the Armed Forces Special Weapons Project; the fear of a nuclear confrontation with the Soviets being prompted by UFO radar tracks; President John F. Kennedy's involvement in the UFO controversy; UFO's and the Cuban missile crisis of 1962; and LCR's initiative to begin reintroducing presidential briefings on the UFO subject. The discussion of organizational slowdowns, denied information and management dilemmas are typical of bureaucracies, irrespective of topic. Such references in the discussion are consistent with a pragmatic working document, not for sensationalism or public melodrama. The third paper is an Executive Briefing document for the Director of Central Intelligence titled "Unidentified Flying Object Implication for Nation Security and Human Survival." It provides a three-page Introduction to a paper of undetermined length written by LCR in December 1976. LCR reveals that between 1946 and 1955 he compiled information on UFO's and the U.S. intelligence community that was included in his book Central Intelligence, UFO's and National Security, published in 1956 by the CIA. It reveals the surprising fact that many secret documents concerning UFO encounters at Los Alamos and the White Sands Missile Range in the period 1944-1949 were destroyed and also reveals how this caused problems in trying to evaluate the true picture from a historical perspective. The paper also touches upon the CIA's role in espionage and UFO investigations, as well as LCR's examination of the CIA's historical UFO studies. The fourth paper in the LCR collection, titled "UFO Technology and the Imbalance of Power," is attributed to Edward Teller and is a five-page photocopy of onionskin paper. It goes into great detail about the nature of official secrecy and the benefits and hazards of secrecy both in the Cold War and in the present day. Teller proposes that official secrecy surrounding UFO's should be lessened for three prime reasons: (a) to stimulate research in the field of military applications of UFO technology; (b) to promote cooperation between the U.S. and its allies around the world on the UFO issue; and (c) to inform the U.S. public of "the true state of UFO reality." Teller also proposes that the majority of classified UFO documents should be declassified. In addition, Teller discusses the use of UFO technology integrated into the U.S. military's remotely piloted vehicle (RPV) program and maintaining an adequate defense against "UFO nuclear weapons." Police helicopter chases UFO

A police helicopter went on a dramatic high-speed chase - in pursuit of some little green men. The tale of the unexpected began when a suspected UFO was spotted next to the Sussex Police vehicle as it flew 1,000ft above Brighton. Inside, crew members Sergeant John Tickner and paramedic Sean Mitchell sat mesmerised as the glowing object floated next to them before disappearing into the distance. They were so stunned they decided to follow it and used a thermal imaging camera to video events as they chased the mystery object for three minutes before giving up and returning to base.

Now their video is being pored over by UFO enthusiasts around the world in the belief it could provide evidence of life on other planets. Experts say they are baffled by the Brighton phenomenon. But both Mr Tickner and Mr Mitchell are convinced they did not witness a close encounter of the third kind. Mr Tickner, 50, who retired last week after 30 years with Sussex Police, said: "We were flying back from Beachy Head and at 1,000ft we didn't expect anything to join us. Not for a moment did we believe it to be anything sinister. "We thought it was funny though so we chased it around for three minutes and were laughing and joking about little green men. None of us took it seriously."

The bizarre incident happened on the evening of August 11, 2000. The crew passed the film footage to a TV company making a documentary about their work. The story was picked up by a magazine and the film has been screened at a UFO conference.

CHUPACABRA KILLS 19 FARM ANIMALS IN PONCE, PUERTO RICO

The story of the so-called Chupacabra, the shadowy character that attacks and slays animals, emerged once again in Ponce, a city on Puerto Rico's southern coast, when 19 fighting roosters, rabbits, ducks and chickens turned up dead at a residence in the La Calzada neighborhood.

"This is weird. I think it was the Chupacabra who slew my animals. I'm scared and alarmed by what occurred," said the animals' owner, Ramon Luis Guzman Colon. Some of the animals were found yesterday morning (Sunday, September 22, 2002) by Guzman Colon outside their cages and others still within them. A rooster was dragged 100 feet from its cage and was still agonizing on Sunday afternoon. Four of the fighting roosters were dead, one beside the other, and in a strange case, two roosters were changed from their respective cages and were found dead facing each other. "It's weird. They swapped the roosters from one cage to another," he said.

All of the animals have wounds on their necks or backs. Dozens of neighbors and curiosity seekers from other sections of Ponce swarmed around the humble dwelling for a glimpse of the strange event.

"At two o'clock in the morning, I heard the dog barking in the alley, and when I came downstairs, the dog vanished. I heard no noise whatsoever and went back to bed," noted Guzman Colon, 53, who is unemployed since the shutdown of the Central Mercedita sugar refinery. "I got up at 6:30 in the morning and found the 19 animals, largely roosters, dead. This is very weird." He added, "The way in which they were bitten, the same area cannot be attributed to dogs. A black-and-white dog was found hiding in the hollow of a tree on Sunday. Even the dog is scared. Something weird is going on," said Guzman Colon, who showed some large tracks which he alleged "belong to the animal that did this. Look at these tracks. They're not those of a dog. They belong to a strange animal."

Guzman Colon pointed out that he has 12 chickens and roosters left and showed some of the broken cages. "The animal responsible for this is short in stature because it broke the cages from below," he theorized. Carlos Soto, a neighbor of the affected party, believes that a snake could have dragged itself from the adjacent lot and caused the deaths, but Guzman Colon insisted that serpents cannot break into cages.

The legend of the Chupacabra emerged several years ago following widespread reports in Puerto Rico in 1995, when it allegedly killed cows, dogs and other animals. It is even believed that it did the same thing in Venezuela, Mexico and the Dominican Republic and Brazil. The alleged incidents began in the municipality of Canovanas, P.R. (See the Puerto Rican newspaper Primera Hora for September 23, 2002)

NEVADA VERY LARGE FLYING TRIANGLE

FALLON -- Cosmo reports, "I saw a dark substance that dimly lit a very large craft that flew by at about 1000 feet on September 5, 2002. At first I thought B 52. This craft traveled west down Reno Hwy 50 with no running lights at 11:13 PM, but dimly lit light nodes were seen but they were NOT lit. The nodes were in the shape of the whole triangular craft and 7 to 9 nodes were seen. It flew at 20 mph or faster without noise. I was surprised by this event and said why me? I have hosted a UFO Television talk show for ten years in Portland. I believe this was a true and real triangle craft that was so close and so large! I did not see a leading edge or rear of craft, I just saw a triangle from the side and bottom of the ship. The sky was clear and about 70 degrees. Total event time 8 seconds. I still can't believe what I saw, but it was there.

TRIANGULAR UFO's SEEN BY A FAMILY IN QUEBEC

On Sunday, September 15, 2002, Megan and Kevin Mcneilly and their two children were driving from Huntington, Quebec, Canada (population 2,746) to their home in Montreal when they saw something very unusual in the sky. "My husband, myself and our two children were on our way home from our country home near Huntington, Que. to our home in Montreal," Megan reported, "As we were driving along the road just outside of Mercier, we saw what appeared to be really bright stars in the distance. After a few minutes, I asked my husband, 'Are those airplanes up ahead, or really bright stars?" Considering that the sky was overcast and no other stars were visible in the sky, he suggested that they were probably helicopters looking for pot (marijuana) fields.

After about five minutes, the two lights ahead in the sky changed position. The one that was higher up, and on the right, remained in the same place. But the lower one to the left began to move westward at a fast pace. Now we were very curious as it was moving far too quickly to be a helicopter. Our eight-year-old son, who was in the back seat, pointed out another one to the right of our vehicle visible from the passenger side. While we were stopped at a traffic light, at around 8 p.m., the one on the passenger side slowly flew overhead. I unrolled my window and stuck my head out for a better view. What I saw gave me the shivers. This was no plane or helicopter. The object was triangular with lights on all three corners.

I have seen thousands of airplanes and helicopters at night, and never have I seen a light formation such as these, nor have I ever seen an aircraft first be stationary in the sky and then move quickly such as these. We saw them for about ten to fifteen minutes, and there were about five different craft in the sky at this time. All of them the same triangular type, though we saw only two of them fly directly overhead. The object appeared to be larger than a Boeing 747 and flying quite low for us to see its shape so clearly.

After we crossed the Mercier Bridge and passed the Dorval Airport, we saw many other airplanes, some flying directly overhead, and I did not see anything that looked like the triangular objects.

"FLAP" OVER NORTHERN ITALY

We have got a new "flap" of sightings to report, this one taking place over various regions of Northern Italy, at two separate times on the evening of Friday the 20th and on the morning of Saturday the 21st, in this month of September.

The Italian Center for UFO Studies has gathered numerous testimonies from Piedmont, Liguria, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna and Marche, all of these highly coinciding in their description of the phenomenon: a roughly triangular object with the point facing down, or otherwise oblong in shape, which reflected the sun's light and appeared to be stationary or move very slowly, while remaining visible for dozens of minutes.

The reports of Friday came from the Lower Piedmont, Liguria and Lombardy, between 6pm and 9pm. Those of Saturday occurred over Romagna and Marche from 7:30 am until towards 9:30 am; these proved to be more sensational, involving air pilots in flight and airport personnel on the ground. On both the 20th and the 21st, various witnesses succeeded at photographing or filming the object at various locations.

The testimonial data corroborated with investigations by the CISU, which led to the identification of the object with a huge stratospheric balloon (350,000 cu. m.) launched for scientific purposes on the previous evening from the well-known launching facility of CNES at Aire-sur-Adour, in France, by the European Space Agency. Instead of exploding after the disengagement of its useful load (a French CNR spectrometric instrumentation for detecting atmospheric aerosols), the balloon escaped control and, being still filled with gas, it was propelled by the high-altitude air currents over Provence, then over Northern Italy to an altitude of more than 25,000 meters. Thereafter, it descended in altitude during the overnight hours and flew over the Adriatic and the former Yugoslavia the following morning, before finally coming down to earth on the night of Saturday the 21st, in Romania.

This type of launch has often resulted, over the years, in similar "flaps" involving tens or hundreds of UFO sightings over Northern Italy, almost always during the autumn months, going back to 1954: among the more sensational ones, there were those (all occurring in September) of 1966, 1970, 1979 and 1985 (the last notably involving aerial pursuit and the filming of sequences by RAI-TV over Aosta).

UFO SIGHTING IN MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA

I was driving on the Champlain Bridge going South. It was raining. I was in the middle lane almost on the highest point of the bridge when I saw from the corner of my eye, what looked liked a plane flying extremely low, coming from my right. As I was getting to the highest point of the bridge (under the metal structure) the lights flew over the bridge in a horizontal flight pattern (it slowed down when crossing over the bridge) I then had a good look at the light formation. It then increased speed, where it broke its flight line at a right angle going up into the sky over St-Lambert.

As I was driving under the structure, I realized that what I was looking at, was not a plane. The light formation was not a plane or anything else I had seen before. It seemed that cars slowed down. I was stunned. What I'd like to know, did you get reports from others? Did anyone else see this thing? I could not have been the only one, who else saw this?

The basic shape of the craft looked like a small square which is wider at the top, almost like a truncated triangle or a geometric 'U' that widens half way up. The whole thing was the size of the small truck. I have a feeling I was looking at the end of the craft because I saw a light formation with lights that were circular, flat and red, which you would see at the back of the old cars in the fifties. The lights were not 'bulb like' but rather extremely flat, and the diameter of these lights were the size of a dinnerplate. Four lights on each side and three at the bottom of the geometric 'U'.

Please let me know if you hear of any other reports from this sight. All of a sudden this thing seems very important to me, I just want to know that others have seen this too and I am not losing my mind.

Odd incident with Embry Riddle pilot on 132.65
OCTOBER 4th 2002 TIME 23:25

A short while ago, at 10:40pm EDT (0240z), an Embry-Riddle pilot (sounded like an instructor, not a student) was flying northbound and in contact with Daytona Beach Approach on 132.65. Suddenly he came on and sounded very excited, exclaiming to the ATC that he just had a near miss. The ATC asked him what type of aircraft he saw and where it was.The pilot responded that it was not an aircraft and that it was just a short way off his right wing. It came upon him very suddenly and then soared upward. He said it was about the size of a baby carriage. The ATC asked him if it could have been a bird. The pilot responded "No it was no bird, it soared upward fast; I have no idea what it was."

The ATC related some unusual sights he had seen during his career flying USAF C-130s, and he tried to calm the Embry Riddle pilot, but the pilot remained a bit excited about what he had seen, insisting that it was a strange unsettling sight. Eventually the ATC handed him off to 125.8, another Daytona Beach Approach freq.
